When love becomes light

A wondrous photo by NASA

We

were mere dust in a cosmic cloud
Drawn into each other’s gravity
Like I knew you from another time
A million years in the making -
We collide.

A star is born.

Something elemental in our core
Created a loving fusion
Together we were more
Than original constitution

From nothing came something

Orbiting, swirling
In the grand expanse
Moving to a timeless dance
You were the universe to me.

We shined brightly in our time.

Our great expansion
Came with equal reaction
Bringing in outside elements
Threw off our cosmic alignment
It began to feel like confinement.

Beneath the surface we threatened to burst

The fire of our love
Made us out of touch
We were burning up
It felt like too much
Until implosion.
